PDX Kink Week Debuts: A Celebration in One of America’s Kinkiest Cities

Portland, OR – 3/2/26 – Long celebrated as one of the kinkiest cities in the United States (notably referenced in a recent Fodor’s article “If You’re Feeling Kinky, Head to the Pacific Northwest”), Portland is leveling up its reputation with the debut of PDX Kink Week, a new, citywide event that puts community at the center of kink culture.

PDX Kink Week is a decentralized celebration that spotlights local events and organizers, kink-friendly venues, small businesses, and grassroots kink communities across the city. Designed in the spirit of a “restaurant week” for kink, it offers a full calendar of kinky parties, socials, meet-ups, vendor pop-ups, and nightlife experiences hosted by a wide range of community partners.

Home to KinkFest, one of the West Coast’s largest BDSM conferences, Portland already draws adventurous visitors to the Expo Center each spring. “But three days is never enough, and who wants to spend an entire visit to Portland out at the Expo center?” said Natasha Strange, who conceived PDX Kink Week alongside event host Viola Parker (both co-founders of Sub Rosa PDX). “Kink Week brings together some bonus opportunities for community, beyond the con and into the spaces and shops that keep it weird year-round.”

“PDX Kink Week celebrates all of the sexy, dark, creative, weird, kinky things Portland has to offer”, said Natasha Strange. “A way for us all to support the small businesses through some tough times. A way for us all to connect at a time when we may feel really disconnected from humanity.”

For many participants, PDX Kink Week will be a first step into kink culture that feels less intimidating and more welcoming. “In an increasingly digital social landscape,” said Viola Parker, “people are hungry for in-person experiences. As far as kink and BDSM go, a lot of folks don’t know where to start. We want to work on changing that perception and offer more opportunities and access points.”
